PETITION: Tell Hallmark No LGBT Christmas movies!  Sign the petition here.

December 6, 2019 (LifeSiteNews)- A LifeSite petition asking Hallmark not to produce LGBT movies for Christmas, or generally, gained more than 25,000 signatures in less than one day.

The petition, which is addressed to Mike Perry, president and CEO of Hallmark, and Don and Dave Hall, chairman and vice chairman, is in response to a recent interview given by a Crown Media Family Networks (owned by Hallmark) executive to the TheWrap.com.

When asked why there are so few LGBT characters and no LGBT lead characters — in the 40 made-for-TV movies which Hallmark produced for Christmas this year, their vice president of programming, Michelle Vicary, stated, “We are looking at pitches for LGBTQ movies[.]”

But, as this viral petition demonstrates, there is very little demand for Christmas movies with an LGBT theme. Quite to the contrary, there is significant opposition to the idea.

The petition gives four good reasons for Hallmark to keep sex and sexual practices — including the promotion of homosexuality and transgenderism — out of its movies:

1. Hallmark Christmas movies are known for their feel-good atmosphere and are generally movies that can be enjoyed by the whole family — without having to explain sexual practices that offend against one's faith.

2. By not promoting sex and sexuality in its movies, Hallmark allows parents to be the primary educators where sex and sexual morals are concerned.

3. This is a good thing for the brand and for business, because people (parents and Christian viewers especially) know what to expect when they sit down to watch a Hallmark Christmas movie.

4. Hallmark would risk losing a big part of its market because people just couldn't be sure of what to expect.

As the petition also says, there’s another big reason Hallmark should not cave in to the LGBT indoctrination mob: the LGBT activists will never be satisfied. They will always want Hallmark to be pushing more and more aberrant views and characters. That doesn't sound like a fun Christmas movie at all!
