(LifeSiteNews) – If My requests are not granted, Russia will spread its errors throughout the world, raising up wars and persecutions against the Church. The good will be martyred, the Holy Father will suffer much and various nations will be annihilated.”

So prophesied Our Lady of Fatima. And her prophecy has come true. There are entire nations being annihilated: ‘nations’ of the unborn. Two billion unborn babies have been denied their God-given right to life. And how many more would have been born from those babies had they been allowed to live? Billions more. Entire nations have already been annihilated.

‘If My requests are not granted…’

Will the pope ‘consecrate’ or merely ‘entrust’ Russia to the Immaculate Heart?  Will he order the world’s bishops to join him in this consecration? Will he pronounce the word ‘Russia’ or will he merely consecrate ‘humanity’ to her Heart?

So many questions have been plaguing us. So many legitimate worries and concerns have been expressed. But we also need to constantly remind ourselves of one thing – Our Lady said: “My requests,” in the plural, meaning that we, too, have a significant mission to fulfill. We must pray, do penitence, and make reparation for the sins against the Immaculate Heart. What sins could be comparable to the worldwide sin of abortion? What could compare to this source of suffering for the maternal Heart of Mary? The whole culture of death is the great sin against her pure motherly Heart. Are we responding to Our Lady’s call? Are we all practicing the first five Saturdays devotion as She requested? Such a simple thing, so little to ask, and yet so few of us heed Our Lady’s call. And so, what was announced has happened.

‘…Russia will spread its errors throughout the world…’

Free speech was severely restricted, those who had retained some degree of sanity dared not speak the truth for fear of losing their livelihood. Doctors, pharmacists, and nurses were threatened with losing their jobs if they did not participate in abortion. Teachers were enlisted to spew out the propaganda of the culture of death to the children and adolescents confided to them at school.

Big government pushed the big abortion industry ever more and more. The culture of death spread its tentacles further and wider each day. When and where was all this happening? In Russia, the first country to legalize abortion, just after the Bolshevik revolution, then in Poland and across Eastern Europe, where Communist Russia next spread her errors, and finally in Western Europe and America, now doing their worst to spread this deadly culture across the globe.

But Satan and his human accomplices today are not at all content with the abysmal number of babies being aborted today: 1 in 4 is far from being enough to appease the fiends of hell who thirst for the blood of babes. No, abortion must be pushed and promoted in the mass media, pop culture, and school curricula worldwide. And abortion legislation must be always more ubiquitous: they are legalizing it where it was illegal, lengthening the time when it may be practiced where its legality was limited, even up to birth.

‘…raising up wars and persecutions against the Church.’

Such grave errors and sins have led to the persecution of the Church. Pope Benedict XVI spoke the following harsh words of truth when he visited Fatima in 2010, in which he revealed the link between the prophesies of Fatima and the grave crisis in the Church:

“As for the new things which we can find in this message today, there is also the fact that attacks on the Pope and the Church come not only from without, but the sufferings of the Church come precisely from within the Church, from the sin existing within the Church. This too is something that we have always known, but today we are seeing it in a really terrifying way: that the greatest persecution of the Church comes not from her enemies without, but arises from sin within the Church, and that the Church thus has a deep need to relearn penance, to accept purification, to learn forgiveness on the one hand, but also the need for justice. Forgiveness does not replace justice.”

Today’s Church is indeed being persecuted from within. Amongst the worst persecutions from within is the false teaching of its pastors, including the lies of the culture of death, as we have seen with the revamped Pontifical Academy for Life, which ought to replace the word ‘Life’ with ‘Death’, a new name for a new mission.

‘The good will be martyred, the Holy Father will suffer much…’

The ways of Divine Providence are a mystery beyond anything we can truly fathom. Who would have predicted that Pope Francis would propose to fulfill Our Lady of Fatima’s request? After several long years of a pontificate plagued with infidelity, from a continuous stream of ambiguity to occasional outright heretical catechesis, from the troubling teaching on marriage in the post-synodal exhortation, Amoris Laetitia, to the idolatrous veneration of the Pachamama idol at the Vatican, who would have guessed such a turn of events?

And yet, God, in his Infinite Wisdom, is watching over us still. And Our Lady, who is, as it were, his Mercy incarnate, is incessantly pleading for us. So, the long awaited Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary by the Pope and the bishops of the world in union with him, we hope and pray, may finally be fulfilled. Even if all the conditions are not actually fulfilled, it surely will be a showering of graces upon our wayward world and crisis-racked Church.

One grace we should be praying for is the conversion of Pope Francis, so that he may behave and speak as one would expect of the Supreme Pastor of the Church. Should our prayers be answered, instead of making the flock suffer, as, if truth be told, our unfortunate pope does, he himself “will suffer much.”

‘…and various nations will be annihilated.’

The annihilation of entire nations! What a terrifying sword threatening to strike us at any moment! Will it be World War III, a nuclear war, starting in Ukraine and spreading throughout the world? This is what we fear when we think about current events.

But what about the war being waged on the unborn? What of these 2 billion babies massacred mercilessly in the womb over the past half century? The world’s population being about 8 million, these victims represent a quarter of the present-day global population. One in four babies is sacrificed in the satanic ritual of abortion. Can these countless victims not represent the “various nations [that] will be annihilated”?

Was Our Mother not thinking of these tiny, defenseless human beings slaughtered in what should be the safest haven in the world, the wombs of their mothers?

The solution: Consecration to Our Lady’s Eucharistic Heart

For those of us who do heed Our Lady’s call to do the first five Saturdays devotion, can we do more? Of course, we can, and we must. The very spirit of this devotion should be the air we breathe, in and out, every second of the day: prayer and penitence, for our sins, for the sins of the world, for the incommensurable sin of the endless sea of blood of aborted babies.

Our world is becoming one vast infant tomb. We must console Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart, pierced by as many thorns as there are murdered unborn babies. What more can we possibly do besides lament?

Besides taking seriously the first five Saturdays devotion; let’s pursue the spirit of this devotion more deeply. How so? Here is what we can do:

Catholics the world over, let’s unite in Mary’s Crusade for LifeIt is a simple but powerful way to put an end to abortion. Initiated by the Marian Franciscans in England, it is a simple but powerful way to put an end to abortion: receiving Holy Communion with the intention of defeating the evil of abortion, and consecrating ourselves to Our Lady, as this magnifies the power of the Communion of each Crusader, who will be wielding the two greatest weapons: the Eucharistic Hearts of Our Lord and Our Lady united together.

Let’s all kneel down and pray, each one in our own language, but united under the mantle of Our Lady, calling out to Her under the beautiful titles given to Her in all the places where She has graced us with her presence throughout history, and, through her intercession, stop the slaughter of the unborn once and for all. Through Her, in Her, and with Her, anything is possible.  For She has given us the mightiest weapon: Her Son.
