Looking at the list of today’s LifeSiteNews headlines, it might seem tough to not become discouraged.

There are reports of:

1. a U.S. Catholic bishop mandating objectionable sex education in his diocesan schools

2. the first child to be legally euthanized in Belgium

3. a state board of education issuing guidelines allowing “transgender” students access to restrooms and other intimate facilities in public schools, and

4. a kindergarten child in Ontario being told by a teacher that he can marry a boy

It goes on and on. With significant discord, strife and confusion everywhere today, there’s no shortage of bad news, to be sure. But make no mistake; we report the good news as well, every chance we get.

LifeSite reports to inform, educate and empower, and in today’s world, that might mean a perceived negative emphasis, but we’ll have to accept that charge if it means bringing you the truth.

Our readers routinely thank us for reporting the tough stories when other outlets often won’t or are prevented from doing so by those who control them. We appreciate that feedback, as we do all feedback, because it’s not easy being associated with the difficult topics, and knowing our reporting is helpful helps us and sustains us.

Lest you get the idea there is any sort of Superman complex at LifeSite, let me assure you that you won’t see any self-congratulatory back-patting going on. I’m grateful to work alongside the most humble and prayerful group of people I know, a group that holds the vocation of sharing the truth in most serious regard.

We also pray for our readers and supporters every day. We pray for you as we pray for strength, guidance and grace from the Lord to persevere in this work for His glory.

We can’t do this work without you, not only because of your support, but also because LifeSite exists to serve our Lord by providing this service to our readers.

I hope you’ll join us in our fall campaign and do whatever you can to help us achieve our campaign goal.

With your support and prayers, we’ll be able to keep bringing you balanced and informed reporting on life, family and culture, and play our part in bringing about the kingdom of God.

Thanks so much and God bless you!
