Background:

On Friday, June 26, the United States Supreme Court imposed the legalization of so-called same-sex “marriage” on every state in the union.

Not only does this decision go against the the will of the millions of Americans who voted to pass laws and amendments defending traditional marriage in dozens of states, it also flies in the face of the nature of marriage as accepted for millenia of human history, the clear will of God, and human nature itself. Equally importantly, it undermines the right of children to a mother and father, and effectively makes it open season on religious liberty in America.

Marriage as the union of a man and a woman is the bedrock of any healthy society. To affirm and defend the true nature of marriage is not to be motivated by prejudice or hatred. It is simply to affirm that reality is what it is, and that it cannot be changed by judicial fiat.

This decision will have serious consequences worldwide, as other nations take inspiration from this misguided example of judicial activism.

However, there is still a way for politicians with the willpower to take action to protect marriage - by passing an amendment to the U.S. Constitution defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman.

Congressmen need to hear from their constitutents that they will not tolerate inaction. The time to act is now. For the sake of our nation, the world, and our children, Congress must pass a pro-marriage constitutional amendment.
