Update on Jan. 14, 2016 - Pelosi has again claimed that her pro-abortion views are consistent with Catholic teaching, telling Roll Call that she’s ‘with the…Catholic Church’ on abortion. It's time for Pelosi to stop spreading this confusion. Sign the open letter and then share it!

Background:

Update: Now Nancy Pelosi has described the videos exposing Planned Parenthood's aborted baby part trade as a "distraction," and said Congress will NOT defund Planned Parenthood.

U.S. Rep. Nancy Pelosi is one confused person, but can’t seem to stop talking about it.

As a Speaker of the House and now Minority Leader, Pelosi has long been a shrill champion of the right to kill a preborn human being, and she routinely undermines the family by promoting gay ‘marriage.’

Even more bizarrely, however, Pelosi often justifies her anti-life and anti-family opinions as expressions of her Roman Catholic faith.

At the beginning of June, Pelosi crossed the line. While attending a Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund gala with her grandchildren, Pelosi stated, matter-of-factly, that same-sex 'marriage' "is consistent with the dignity and worth we [Catholics] attribute to every person." As for why she brought her grandchildren to the event, she said, “it’s really important to see what the practice of our faith is.”

In this twisted game, Pelosi is mocking a religion and its leaders that have been stalwart defenders of the sacred role of the traditional family and the right to life of every human being.

Pelosi can't explain how being a “devout Catholic” leads her to use her influence to prevent the participation of San Francisco Archbishop Cordileone at the March for Marriage. She can't explain how she could be “happy” to receive the present from President Obama of a rosary blessed by Pope Francis in the same week she accepted Planned Parenthood’s 2014 Margaret Sanger Award for her promotion of abortion.

She simply can’t coherently explain why she calls abortion “sacred ground” and how she could criticize the recent Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which would prevent the abortion of fully-formed babies in the womb who can feel the excruciating pain of the abortion.

In making these remarks, Pelosi is not only promoting horrific evils and spreading confusion about what the Catholic Church actually teaches on these matters, but is endangering her soul. It is time for pro-life and pro-family activists to express their concern directly to her, and to pray that she sees the truth on these matters.

Nancy Pelosi desperately needs a wake up call so she can kneel by her bedside and put that rosary to good use.
