Many of the liberal reactions shown in this story contain offensive language.

June 21, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) – Abortion activists aren't the only ones disappointed by the results of Georgia's special election yesterday. The liberal media, who hyped the election as a “referrendum on Trump,” couldn't hide their dismay at pro-life Republican Karen Handel's victory.

A screenshot of glum-looking CNN anchors made its rounds on the Internet shortly after the election was called.

MSNBC's Rachel Maddow wondered if some rain in the district had “partisan implications.”

The race had drawn attention from all around the country, with opponents of Trump hoping it would be their first victory since his election.

The media reactions to Handel's victory were similar to their meltdown when Trump won – from blaming a “rigged system” to the shocked, somber faces.

Liberal and pro-abortion Internet reactions were even more distressed.

“My eyes are literally bloodshot red from crying for the last hour, and I just threw up from the stress. I can't believe we lost again,” wrote a Reddit commenter in a post so dramatic one wonders if it was written out of mockery. “The president sexually assaults people, the Republican in Montana bodyslams people, and this b***h in Georgia refuses to let women with breast cancer get treatment. And the worst part is people still vote for them! It's happening. We are in 1930s Nazi Germany. We must resist.”

Some intolerant Twitter users made similar remarks about Handel.
