Why do leading Democrats — including presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, President Barack Obama, and Democratic National Committee Chairwoman and Member of Congress Debbie Wasserman-Schultz — oppose the popular 20-week ban that passed the House of Representatives last week?

According to LifeSiteNews U.S. Bureau Chief Ben Johnson, it's because their party is dominated by “abortion fundamentalism” and “abortion fanaticism.”

Speaking with Rick Amato on One America News last week, Johnson said that while “55 to 66 percent of the American people” support banning late-term abortions, Democrats “call [the 20-week ban] a disgrace.”

“In fact, the strongest language I heard was from Rep. Louise Slaughter,” said Johnson. “She said it was 'disgustingly cruel.'”

“Any challenge whatever to abortion, at any point in the pregnancy, has become a standard of orthodoxy for the Democratic Party. Of course, the 2012 platform calls for public financing of abortion through all nine months of pregnancy, which is well outside the public mainstream.”
