Billboards slated to go up in Mississippi and Oklahoma inform women that ‘California is ready to help’ if they ‘need an abortion.' The signs quote Mark 12:31, which reads: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no greater commandment than these.’
According to the document, ‘ICE policies and standards’ require that pregnant women who are ‘detained in ICE immigration custody have access to full reproductive health care.’
The statement came just days after the U.S. Supreme Court returned the right to regulate abortion back to the states. Many states have since heavily restricted abortion within their borders.
