Alberta is the second province in less than a week, joining Ontario, to announce the full closure of drug consumption sites that have been called a failed experiment.
The Department of Health acknowledged that the so-called 'safe supply' drug policy was a 'highly polarizing' decision that 'compounded' local social 'crises.'
'Yes, we do provide funding to community organizations for harm reduction tools, including pipes, yes,' said Assistant Deputy Health Minister Kendal Weber.
