'The lawsuit alleges, among other things, that the collection, use and dissemination of the private health information of Canadians by the government is a breach of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.'
'What Canadians need today is not more unmitigated government access to private information but, instead, a renewed commitment to Charter rights and freedoms,' Justice Center for Constitutional Freedoms President John Carpay said.
The legal action cites violations of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, including the right to life, freedom of religion and conscience, and informed consent.
