According to an updated list from the Christian Heritage Month initiative, 40 Municipalities, 2 regions and 1 province in Canada have proclaimed December as Christian Heritage Month.
The organization submitting the request said it was disappointed and saddened with the decision made by the NDP government, which is led by Premier David Eby, not to recognize an important month for Christians.
MP Marilyn Gladu said more than six cities have already proclaimed December as Christian Heritage Month, and the federal government has given several other religions a heritage month.
“We have Sikh Heritage Month, Hindu Heritage Month, Muslim history month, Jewish Heritage Month and so many more. It is only fair and right that we have a Christian heritage month since there are 19.6 million Christians in Canada according to the last census,' MP Marilyn Gladu said.
