Could certain bishops, cardinals hold a council to remove Francis as pope?
Centuries ago, Cardinal Thomas Cajetan noted that an imperfect council can be called ‘when there is a single heretical pope to be deposed, and when there are several doubtful supreme pontiffs.’ Perhaps this is the solution to our time?
