City manager Kim Ayotte acknowledged at the trial for Freedom Convoy leaders Tamara Lich and Chris Barber that participants upheld an agreement with the mayor's office.
'It is the government and the police authorities that should be answering questions about why they chose to stand against citizens rather than with citizens,' said Alberta lawyer Eva Chipiuk.
'She gave hope to all of Alberta, Canada, and the world. She was proud to stand strong and free in the face of the worst government overreach in a generation, Tamara Lich.'
Lawyers at the Justice Center for Constitutional Freedoms said that a legal challenge to the federal government's travel ban, lifted in June, should continue in order to secure Canadian's rights 'and bring clarity and finality to a controversial and divisive topic that has had far reaching impacts throughout all of Canada.'
