Journalists from True North and Rebel News were allegedly pepper-sprayed by Ottawa Police, with the latter alleging police also beat one of their female reporters.
'The government is issuing an order, with immediate effect, under the Emergencies Act, authorizing Canadian financial institutions to temporarily cease providing financial services where the institution suspect an account is being used to further the illegal blockade and occupation,' said Chrystia Freeland, the Minister of Finance.
According to Rebel News founder Ezra Levant, police did not have a search warrant for the initial raid, and as a result, eventually had to leave because no judge would ‘bite’ to sign any warrant.
