Kansas City bishop lists woman’s arrest for praying without a mask among reasons for banning her from his diocese

Catholic homeschooling mom Jane Bernardel was found guilty of trespassing in July 2021 for refusing to mask while praying inside a church in 2020. Bishop James Johnston of the Diocese of Kansas City - St. Joseph subsequently cited the arrest among a number of other reasons for banning her from entering all churches and buildings in the diocese.
