Slated to take effect in January, the new West Virginia law will prohibit physicians from performing surgeries on minors to make them look like the opposite sex, or prescribing them cross sex-hormones or puberty blocking drugs.
‘It is the intent of pro-life legislators in WV to continue to tighten our law and do all we can to support mothers,’ Sen. Patricia Rucker told LifeSiteNews.
‘I don’t know whether there’s going to be enough legislators who have the courage and fortitude to admit that this law can be fixed and are willing to start over again,’ Republican Sen. Patricia Rucker told LifeSite. ‘I can only hope.’
‘An 1849 law criminalizing the provision of abortion for a health-care provider, and arguably the woman, is on the books and enforceable,’ West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey said.
