Premier Scott Moe's refusal to force Saskatchewan residents to pay the tax comes after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau refused to extend the tax exemption to forms of heating used in Conservative provinces.
‘There will absolutely not be any other carve-outs or suspensions of the price on pollution,’ Trudeau said. ‘This is designed to phase out home heating oil, the way we made a decision to phase out coal.’
The Trudeau government plans to ban natural resources by 2035 despite Saskatchewan and Alberta warning that this is impossible and will harm Canadians.
