This release occurred after her lawyer David Santoro revealed in court today that Gibbons was read an out-of-date injunction at the time of her arrest.
Thursday's tall, lanky sheriff, who participated in past arrests of Linda, unrolled himself out of his car and immediately called out "Hi, Linda". His intense, eager deputy followed him.
As is her normal practice Gibbons paced back and forth silently in front of the mill carrying a sign with a live baby’s photo reading: “Why Mom When I have so much Love to Give”.
“I think that it should be a movement. … Our witness at the abortion clinic is saying we’re here with our bodies,” she said. “And when the court says, ‘Well, no you’re not going to be here,’ we’re saying, ‘Well, regardless of the cost, regardless of the risk.’”
Gibbons has steadfastly refused to accept a bail condition that requires her to stay away from the abortion facilities, but her lawyer says she is now been released without any conditions.
Madam Justice Mara Beth Greene adjourned the matter to Tuesday, April 12 at 10 a.m. at the College Park courthouse, Yonge and College Streets in Toronto, when she will render her decision on the abuse of process application. Gibbons will remain imprisoned until then.
