Melinda Gates, one of the world's richest women, and the British government, organised a family planning summit in London this week. They should have done their homework first.
The Gates are campaigning to raise $4bn worldwide to expand contraceptive and “reproductive health” services to 120 million of the world’s poor women by 2020.
According to statements posted on the Ursuline Academy of Dallas website, Gates gave $5 milllion dollars to the school in 2006, $2 million in 2007 and $1.5 million in 2012.
According to Gates, the nuns at her old school were delighted to hear about her plans to initiate a global contraceptive campaign and contacted her to tell her: "We're all for you.
