Introduced May 14, 2013 by Rep. Chris Smith, R-NJ, the bill would make numerous changes to federal law, including codifying the annually-approved Hyde Amendment.
"The Administration will strongly oppose legislation that unnecessarily restricts women's reproductive freedoms and consumers' private insurance options," said the White House in a statement.
