The law, which is expected to be legally challenged, is a response to the North Dakota Supreme Court upholding a block on the state's trigger abortion ban.
Earlier this month, Doug Burgum vetoed a bill that would have forbade teachers from referring to students by factually-inaccurate gender pronouns without parental consent.
The Florida Supreme Court has upheld the state’s six-week and 15-week abortions bans. The six-week law takes effect in May 2024. The Arizona Supreme Court has also revived a near-total ban, which takes effect later this month.
