The German synodal path, where the bishops are discussing these matters, has been under strong criticism for questioning the Church’s teachings on sexuality.
'I believe you could say other things,' the Austrian cardinal said, adding that women's eligibility for certain 'positions of leadership' in the Church remains 'an open question.'
Cardinal Jorge Urosa Savino noted that ordinations are up in several dioceses and said married priests 'will not resolve the problems of the current situation.'
