Pope Francis piqued the curiosity of many members of the faithful in his November 24th exhortation, Evangelii Gaudium, when he said national bishops’ conferences should be granted “genuine doctrinal authority.”
Burke has been known for his outspoken championing of the high priority that Popes Benedict and John Paul II gave to the Church’s pro-life and pro-family teachings.
"We can never talk enough about that as long as in our society innocent and defenceless human life is being attacked in the most savage way. I mean it’s literally a massacre of the unborn,” said Cardinal Burke.
The unborn, along with the poor, the elderly, and the disabled, "are in danger of being ‘thrown out,’ expelled from a machine that must be efficient at all costs," warns the Pope.
Mandela signed one of the world's most liberal pro-abortion laws, supported same-sex "marriage," and was a member of the South African Communist Party.
Analysis - His recent exhortation reveals a faithful Pope who loves Christ and His Church, but who also speaks and writes words often susceptible to misinterpretation and which at times seem hurtful to faithful Catholics and potentially dangerous to the good efforts of those faithful.
