The move comes in anticipation of the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson, which concerns a similar 15-week abortion ban and could see the federal right to abortion struck down.
Virginia’s new solicitor general has withdrawn the state from a pro-abortion lawsuit filed along with 22 other states which contended that Mississippi’s 15-week abortion ban was unconstitutional.
