On January 19, the diocese announced that Our Lady of Lourdes Parish will be permitted to share the St. Ann Mission’s church building for Traditional Latin Mass services and that Bishop Iffert will join parishioners for dialogue on the situation.
We left the Archdiocese of Washington to seek the peace and respite of the countryside only to find that in the Era of Francis, one cannot simply move away from the problems plaguing the Church. These problems are like a viper spreading its venom everywhere – dare I caution that in this era of the Church, nowhere and no one is safe.
American Catholics are not forced into a definitive act of apostasy to save their skin. There is subtler coercion to accept heresy by disregarding Catholic teaching on sexual morality that is now unwelcome in the public square and many church pews.
