Wyoming is set to join more than 20 US states that have cracked down on destructive hormones and surgeries for gender-confused children in recent years.
According to an internal email obtained by the Globe and Mail, Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre has instructed his MPs not to comment on Alberta's recent decision to ban mutilating gender surgeries for minors.
It remains to be seen whether New Hampshire’s socially liberal GOP Gov. Chris Sununu will sign the bill, which has been significantly watered down from its original version.
Andy Beshear said he has ‘never supported gender reassignment surgery for minors, and they don’t happen in Kentucky,’ but the University of Kentucky admitted it performed double mastectomies on girls as young as 16.
The new measures ban mutilating surgeries for gender-confused youth and require minors to undergo 40 hours of ‘clinically neutral’ therapy before being prescribed puberty blockers or hormone drugs.
The law forbids any ‘medical interventions’ aimed at changing one’s sex and prevents anyone who has attempted to do so from becoming an adoptive parent.
