SEATTLE, Mon Mar 14, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Federal prosecutors in the U.S. District Court for Western Washington at Seattle have filed a civil complaint against a Mountlake Terrace man, under the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, a 1994 federal law against blocking access to abortion clinics.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Diaz alleged that John C. Kroack, 54, had tried to force his way into the Lynwood abortion clinic on Jan. 7, 2010, calling its employees “baby killers” and “murderers,” according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

The paper reported that Diaz told the court that Kroack first entered the facility on Jan. 5, spoke with clinic staff about abortion, then left peacefully.

Diaz then alleged that on Jan. 7, Kroack “used force and physically obstructed the entrance to a reproductive health services facility with the intent to injure, intimidate and interfere with persons seeking and providing reproductive health services.”

According to the complaint, Kroack again entered into conversation about abortion with clinic staff, but then became agitated and tried to force his way into the clinic by kicking and slamming himself against the door, while allegedly shouting, “You baby killers! You are all going to hell for being murderers.”

The Post-Intelligencer reported that clinic staff stayed in a “safe room” inside the facility until police arrived and escorted Kroack away.

The federal prosecutor is asking that Kroack be banned from the Lynwood abortion clinic for life and pay a $10,000 fine.

It was reported that Kroack has not yet responded to the civil suit, filed on Friday Mar. 11, and would not discuss the allegations with media.
