OTTAWA (LifeSiteNews) – Ignoring the religious convictions of millions of Canadians, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced Sunday that his federal government is giving $100 million taxpayer dollars to LGBT communities across the country.
“This will guide our ongoing work to fight discrimination, break down barriers, to advance rights and to build a future where everyone in Canada is truly free to be who they are and love whom they love,” Trudeau explained at an Ottawa press conference on Sunday when announcing his new “2SLGBTQI+ Action Plan.”
Seventy-five percent of the $100 million dollars will reportedly go toward local community organizations focused on “inclusion” because, according to Trudeau, that is “where the real work of support comes from.”
“The strength and resilience of your communities should inspire everyone,” the prime minister added.
According to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, over $5 million is going to be spent on a “public awareness campaign,” and an additional $7.7 million will be used for “data collection and community-led policy research to support federal action on 2SLGBT issues.”
Another $10 million is slated for LGBT endeavors outside of the country.
Since coming into power in 2015, Trudeau’s federal government has been committed to promulgating the LGBT narrative, oftentimes through large sums of public money.
In 2017, Trudeau gave $15 million to “memorialize” the Canadian government’s “historic discrimination” of homosexuals.
In 2019, Trudeau announced $30 million to be spent over a five-year period to push homosexuality and transgenderism in developing countries.
However, the most overtly pro-LGBT and anti-family move by Trudeau came in December 2021, when Bill C-4 , which claims to be a ban on “conversion therapy,” was passed without debate in the House of Commons.
Despite being misleadingly marketed as a ban on the antiquated practice of “converting” one from homosexuality to heterosexuality through electric shocks or other procedures, the pro-life and pro-family organization, Campaign Life Coalition (CLC), has warned that the bill may lead to parents and pastors being jailed for simply teaching the biblical view of sexuality.
In the bill, “conversion therapy” is broadly defined as “any practice, treatment or service designed to: change a person’s sexual orientation to heterosexual; change a person’s gender identity to cisgender; change a person’s gender expression so that it conforms to the sex assigned to the person at birth; repress or reduce non-heterosexual attraction or sexual behavior; repress a person’s non-cisgender gender identity; or repress or reduce a person’s gender expression that does not conform to the sex assigned to the person at birth.”
Considering the wide scope of this definition, CLC political operations director Jack Fonseca described C-4 as the “parental prosecution bill.”
“There are no protections whatsoever in the bill for faith leaders who, for example, discourage a gender-confused person from identifying as transgender and who try to help them be at peace with the male or female body in which they were born,” Fonseca said.
