“It appears that Planned Parenthood flew a man from Washington to Mississippi, put him in a clerical collar, and asked him to appeal to the voters with deep Southern Baptist roots," said Personhood USA President Keith Mason.
One leader commented that ending age-based "discrimination" of sexuality is a priority for global lobbies such as Planned Parenthood, which has stated that “sexuality and sexual pleasure are important parts of being human for everyone - no matter what age."
This is not the first time Joplin has been in trouble. His license was revoked in 1997 in connection with the death of one patient and the attempted abortion of a viable fetus on a 15-year-old girl.
Pro-life groups have attributed the overall decrease in abortions in part to the Positive Alternatives program set up in July 2006 under Gov. Tim Pawlenty.
