OKLAHOMA CITY (LifeSiteNews) — Oklahoma has instituted further protections for females in light of ongoing problems with gender-confused men “identifying” as women and entering women-only spaces such as prisons and locker rooms.

Governor Kevin Stitt’s Aug 1. executive order defines “male” and “female” using biologically correct terminology. It provides similar, fact-based definitions for “mother,” “father,” “man,” “boy,” and “sex.”

The executive order also requires correctional facilities to “provide dedicated facilities for men and women respectively.”

“Likewise, schools are directed to provide dedicated restrooms and locker room facilities for boys and girls, respectively,” the order states.

Gov. Stitt noted the order had support from both liberal and conservative groups. He said it will address the “unfounded confusion” over the question “What is a woman,” (popularized by Daily Wire commentator Matt Walsh).

The Women’s Bill of Rights Executive Order “was drafted by Independent Women’s Voice and Independent Women’s Law Center (IWLC) in collaboration with the left-leaning feminist organization Women’s Liberation Front (WoLF),” the governor’s office noted. Tennessee and Kansas have both passed similar legislation.

“I am taking decisive executive action to ensure the true definition of the word woman, meaning a biological woman, is what guides the state as we reaffirm our commitment to ensuring the safety, dignity, and sanctity of women across Oklahoma,” Stitt stated in the news release. “As long as I’m governor, we will continue to protect women and ensure women-only spaces are reserved solely for biological women.”

Former University of Kentucky swimmer Riley Gaines Barker, who has been critical of former University of Pennsylvania swimmer William “Lia” Thomas’ inappropriate encroachment into women’s locker rooms and sports, thanked Stitt for the executive order.

“Biological differences must be respected in the law to ensure female-only spaces have a future,” the swimmer said.

“It is sad that such basic truths must be spelled out to ensure equal protection, but I applaud Governor Stitt for taking decisive action today,” she said. “Establishing common language by way of the Women’s Bill of Rights is a way of saying enough is enough: Oklahoman women deserve equal opportunity, privacy, and safety, and this order will help deliver it.”

The executive order is in contradiction to the path leftist politicians have taken. For example, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed legislation in 2020 that allows gender-confused males to request placement in a female prison.

Men in women’s prisons has caused numerous problems, as expected, including the rape of female inmates.
